This weeks feature Is Miss Metro 2014 Jessica Baker.
"My name is Jessica Baker and I was Miss Metro in 2014! Since then, I continued to compete in the Miss Iowa Program placing as high as 2nd runner up. Over my years in MAO I have earned over $10,000 in scholarship money. Pageants have taught me so many life skills including, public speaking, how to run with anything thrown at you, to be confident with who I am, to teach others that there is simply no one more perfect than yourself and have brought my some of my best friends.
In 2015 I graduated from Western Illinois University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and Dance. In 2016 I opened my dream studio Ambition Baton Twirling and Dance and continue to share my passion for baton twirling and dance in Iowa City. Ambition offers classes in both baton and dance starting at just 3 years old! We also have competition teams that have placed in the top 5 at Nationals.
I can’t seem to get away from the love I have for the Miss American Program. This last year I was the 2019 Miss Iowa Producer, where I got to spend time on the other side of the stage. I absolutely loved it and there will definitely be more pageant producing in my future! I currently reside in Cedar Rapids with my fiancé Chase and we will be getting married in May of 2020!
GDM was a great year for me because of how much time and effort the board gives to you. They truly want what is best for each of their titleholders and make you feel like your apart of their family. I grew so much with the GDM board, and would always encourage girls to compete in their fantastic program!"
